| Born
in 1959, I was brought up in rural Kent, attended the foundation course
at Medway College of Art and Design, and studied Fine Art (painting) at
the Central School of Art. After a year I escaped London in search of
hard work and travel. I found both and in time I was drawn towards ceramics
in a bid to make "practical art" (and a living). |

In September 1987 I moved to Somerset and established my studio in Milverton.
I moved to larger premises in Hemyock in May 1992 and in December 1998 expanded
once again into my present workshop in the rural setting of the Blackdown
Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty, only 12 miles from Taunton.
I produce a wide range of domestic ware, one-off commemorative pieces and increasingly tiles, including murals to order. All the work is functional and intended to enhance everyday life. |
